Our client is a leading organization specializing in insurance investigation and intelligence services, catering to a diverse range of sectors including insurance, banking, commercial, industrial, retail, public sector, and government.
Our client is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in supporting their Cyber function. The successful candidate will contribute to the achievement of the IT Support / Corporate Services business objectives and the implementation of the Cyber strategy to align with business infrastructure and platform needs and growth targets. The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Cyber Security solutions and services that align with the Cyber Security Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
● Take overall responsibility for engineering within the Cyber Security Team, providing technical guidance and compliance support to various business units.
● Support CSOC members during investigations and BAU activities, ensuring the stability and resilience of the organization’s IT security infrastructure.
● Design, implement, and maintain Cyber Security solutions and services to support the delivery of the Cyber Security Strategy.
● Demonstrate a passion for cyber security, including people, processes, and technical solutions for enhancing security posture.
● Utilize a deep understanding of security controls, frameworks, and their translation into technical tasks, including conducting GAP analysis.
● Manage complex tasks, ensuring tracked outcomes and clear output.
● Apply a solid understanding of the IT Infrastructure estate and advocate for secure design practices.
● Leverage in-depth knowledge of Cyber risk and its translation into IT risk and beyond.
● Exhibit a strong understanding of at least one of the six core technology areas (Azure, MCAS, Defender, MIP, Office365 Security, Intune) including their configuration.
● Demonstrate expertise, experience, and working knowledge in Microsoft technologies, SharePoint, PC, server, network systems (CISCO Switches & Servers, Firewalls), anti-virus packages, and virtualization (VMWare and/or Hyper-V).
● Possess strong knowledge of the Microsoft Security Stack.
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field.
● Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the six core technology areas (Azure, MCAS, Defender, MIP, Office365 Security, Intune), including practical configuration experience.
● Proficiency in managing complex tasks with clear outcomes and output. In-depth
● understanding of security controls, frameworks, and their translation into technical tasks.
● Solid understanding of IT Infrastructure best practices and secure design principles.
● Thorough knowledge of Cyber risk and its implications for IT risk and beyond.
● Strong working knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including SharePoint, PC, server, and network systems (CISCO Switches & Servers, Firewalls), anti-virus packages, and virtualization (VMWare and/or Hyper-V).
● Expertise in the Microsoft Security Stack is essential.
● Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
